Even the free version is an easy to learn editing tool. Which can get cool results. Worth a try in this case. But pro is not necassery until u personally miss something that pro includes. So try it a week. In short, capcut caps out at intermediate level editing tools. Premiere or other big tools will have more advanced tools and effects in terms of color editing, audio editing, etc. Capcut simply does less. Ofc, i'd recommend you to first install iobit uninstaller, to uninstall the capcut from your pc. It deletes every file related to that particular install. Then download the exe from filecr. If ur from a country where capcut is supported then vpn is not needed. And i'd recomend to test the pro features first. Capcut has some nice features for a free editor and i use it for quickie edits where i don't care to deal with davinci resolve, which is free but looks intimidating to new users. I don't know what features justify a purchase of the pro version, other than multiple video tracks and extra transitions and effects. I had this same annoying thing but just double check the in and out tab of the animation. I was using a free glitch animation but didn't realise capcut was automatically setting mine to by word and the setting is really hard to spot. Then after few hours when i launched capcut again all the pro stuffs are gone (effects,animations etc) even the join pro option at the top right. So apparently you're supposed to press the invite friends and then get an invitation link. Then you download a capcut exe to install, but this time upon install it shows a popup when you log in to insert the invitation code that is also shown in the link. However capcut seems to know if you had it downloaded on desktop previously. Do you have an account in capcut? If so, you simply need to log in to your desktop with that account. If you dont have an account then dont worry, the pro features will still be there, just create an account on the device where you already have pro.
